Frequently asked questions
What to expect when licensing your company’s operational data.
Does it cost me anything to talk to you?
No. There are no upfront fees, and Corpus Advisory never charges you. If a deal closes, the buyer pays our referral fee separately.
Who are the buyers?
We work with established buyers who license operational data to train AI systems. If your company is a fit, we introduce you to the relevant buyer so you can discuss the opportunity directly.
What kind of data are they looking for?
The operational records your company already creates every day. This includes operational logs, internal communications, support tickets, documentation, task histories and CRM or workflow metadata. The value lies in the knowledge and decisions captured through everyday work.
How much could my data be worth?
Deals typically start at $100K. Operationally mature companies with well-documented workflows often attract high six-figure payouts, with some deals reaching into the millions. Final value depends on your domain expertise, operating maturity and data volume. You agree the final price and terms with the buyer during the scoping phase.
Will anyone be able to tell the data came from my company?
No, the processed data will not be linked to your company. Company identifiers and other sensitive information are removed before the data is used. You also control what is included in the licensing deal and can exclude any information you do not want to share.
What happens to customer and employee information?
The data will be anonymised before any downstream use. Personal and company identifiers and other sensitive data will be redacted. The anonymised version retains the operational knowledge without the identifying details.
Do I hand over my data?
You choose which records and systems are included and approve a read-only connection. The buyer handles extraction and anonymisation. You retain ownership of your underlying data; the buyer uses an anonymised version under the agreed licence.
How much work is this for my team?
Your part starts with a conversation about your company and its data. If you proceed, you agree the scope and terms and approve a read-only connection. The buyer handles the rest, including extracting and anonymising the data. No engineering work is required from your team, and your day-to-day operations continue as normal.
How long does the whole process take?
The process can take as little as a few weeks, depending on the data, the scope of the licence and the buyer’s requirements. You discuss the expected timeline with the buyer during the scoping phase, before deciding to proceed.
How do you get paid?
We only get paid if your deal closes. The buyer pays you directly for the data licence on your agreed terms and pays us a separate referral fee. You are never charged by us.
